Google Yourself Event Wrap Up
On Monday 15 June around 30 YTN members and supporters were treated to discussions with three professionals in the digital space. Jodie Willmer and Rob Nagy- directors of Guest Ready, assisting hosts with their Airbnb listings, provided insights into the shared economy and the opportunities this presents. Jodie and Rob recently presented ‘Guest Ready Airbnb Bookings Booster’ which has had over 80,000 views. You can access the presentation here. They also talked about Rachel Botsman’s TED talk which covers building trust and reputation online, a relevant theme for the evening and the sharing economy.
David Dusink of Ink Social spoke on the importance of curating your personal online content to get your dream job. David said when you Google yourself the content that appears should be what you want to appear, and you should focus heavily on Instagram and LinkedIn. The audience loved David’s tips and tricks for the best online profile.

Caitlin Crowley, Course Manager at College of Event Management spoke on the importance of students keeping an eye on their online presence, ensuring they are portrayed in a positive lights and being aware of how they are depicted. Caitlin also highlighted the importance of Pinterest in events work and study.
