Meet the panellists:
Lauren Cowie, Alba Thermal Springs & Spa
Lauren is a tourism and marketing professional with eight years’ experience in the industry working across Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, and Victoria. Passionate about regenerative tourism in regional destinations. She has held roles in destination marketing & sales, group tour coordination, guest services, project management, package & experience development, and event management. My current role as Digital Marketing Specialist at Alba Thermal Springs & Spa is dedicated to positioning Alba as a leading World Class Wellness destination in Australia and driving sustainable industry growth in wellness tourism on the Mornington Peninsula.
She aspires to be a resource for change and an emerging industry leader shaping the future of tourism in Victoria. I have previously held a two year position on the YTN committee and also assisted in creation of the first and second young voices in tourism research papers and was a mentor in the first tourism roadmap program with YTN and regen projects.
Vivian Lyngdoh, Rydges Melbourne
Starting their career in tourism at the Queenstown Resort College, and moving into luxury hospitality, reservations and sales at the likes of Accor Hotels and Air New Zealand Tandem Travel, Vivian’s career has gone from strength to strength. Vivian was the founder of their own creative centric event namely Frills, chaired the Wellington Pride Festival committee, and pivoted to diversity and inclusion initiatives in the New Zealand Public Sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vivian has been actively involved in shaping the future of tourism by participating in committees such as YoungTEC New Zealand and Conference, Incentives of New Zealand (CINZ). Vivian’s efforts and potential were recognised with a nomination as a Rising Star of the Tourism world in New Zealand, a milestone that reflects their passion and contribution to the field. Vivian moved to Melbourne six months ago as Business Development Manager for Rydges Melbourne and is excited to contribute to the vibrant tourism landscape here in Melbourne.
Georgia Guerinet, Qatar Airways
Georgia’s career to date spans various tourism sectors, including hotels, non-profits, and airline marketing. Georgia has a strong background in digital marketing, embraces opportunities for creativity and thrives when working on results-oriented campaigns across all digital platforms. She has over a decade of diverse marketing, brand, partnership, and events experience across Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney.
While at Qantas, Georgia led the charge of rebranding Qantas Rewards Store to Qantas Marketplace from a marketing perspective which involved launching a comprehensive out-of-home and digital campaign. She has recently moved back to Melbourne to take on a role with Qatar Airways as Marketing Manager, South West Pacific & North Asia.
