One-on-one networking event a hit
On Wednesday 27th August, our professional development series continued with the latest installment focusing on the events and attractions sectors. Young Tourism Network welcomed Olivia Dal Bo of Peter Jones Special Events, Tracy Hore from Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, Natalie Duke from Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and Carla Phillips from Zoos Victoria to take part in discussions on their experiences in the events and attractions industries. Nearly 40 participants were divided into groups with each guest speaker, providing an intimate environment for participants to engage in discussion and ask questions. The speakers discussed how they got to where they are today, what’s next for their event or attraction and the opportunities and challenges they have faced. The food was brilliant as always, and many passionate young professionals took the time to engage in networking both prior to and post the event. A special thank you to our guests Olivia, Tracy, Natalie and Carla. YTN celebrates Victorian Tourism Week with a bonus for new members!
From the 1– 5 of September the Young Tourism Network will be offering the first 20 members to sign up a free ticket to visit one of Melbourne’s leading attractions. The first 20 members who sign up will be provided with a free pass to either the Melbourne Zoo or the Melbourne Star. Past members are encouraged to renew their memberships for the chance to receive a free pass. Join now!
